Greetings in the Name of Jesus,

When we accept the blood of Christ for our salvation, Scripture promises us that we are a new creation – the old has past and the new has come!  Paul says that in Christ we are washed, sanctified, and justified!  Are you walking in those promises today – living as one who is clean, who is set apart for God and who is made right in their relationship with Him?  As we do this, it transforms our whole outlook on life, and even more so, helps to determine our new identity!  I am no longer defined by my desires and sins, but instead, by Christ, my redeemer!

Here are some announcements to keep in mind:

  • JAM activities begin at 6:45 tonight.  (Reminder, there is no Men’s Bible Study tonight. They will meet again next week.)
  • Mennonite Women Sewing Circle is tomorrow – all ladies are welcome to gather to quilt, knot comforters, share in a devotional, and a noon meal.  (Ladies are invited to bring a dish to share with others.)
  • Don’t forget to pledge to our Bible Quiz Team members as they memorize Hebrews and 1 Peter verses.  The pledges are going to support the Hood Family.
  • Prayer Updates –
    • Caitlyn, the Farmersville HS student who was in an accident, passed away Sunday afternoon after being removed from life support.  Please remember her family and the community in prayer.
    • Nate Beachey’s surgery went well yesterday.  Pray for pain management and for a quick recovery.  He hopes to come home Thursday.
    • LeeAnn Romine (Pastor Mike’s Sister) is scheduled to have surgery Thursday for uterine cancer.  Pray the procedure goes well and that she, too, has a speedy recovery.
  • Have you missed a Sunday and want to listen to the sermon – or would you like to share a sermon with a friend or family member?  You can listen to East Bend’s past sermons on our webpage, at www.eastbendmc.com or by downloading our new app through the Apple App Store or the Android App store.  (Just search for East Bend Mennonite Church)
  • Remember – you can give to East Bend using the “Give Online Option” or by texting “ebmc” to 77977 to download the PushPay app on your smart phone.  It’s quick, secure, and you can do it anytime.

“Behold!  I make all things new!”  God has promised to redeem us and to make us new!  These promises are for today!  Have you claimed them and allowed the knowledge of God’s mercy and grace to settle into your life?  There is hope for new direction and freedom from sin, and it’s found in Christ Jesus!  Choose today to live as one who is redeemed and chosen by God to do His good and perfect will!

Being Made New Every Day,

Pastor Michael
